I have seen non-verbal people instantly connect through songs; family members positioning arms around their household's bed, as they perform his preferred songs; and people whose encounters lighting up when listening to a certain preferred tune, as if they had just discovered their most loved companion.
Have you ever had a "healing" or "therapuetic" encounter with songs that you'd like to share? If you are thoughtful for a beloved who is crictally ill, you may go through confused at periods.  You want so much to help, to DO something, but just don't know what or how. Music is so nurturing; it is a present that you can provide your beloved that very well might carry you both returning to more content periods, recalling the past together before your beloved was tired.
